RENEE MARCUS BUTLER
From inception my work depended on ceiling, walls and floor for armature. Transparent scrim, monofilament, Plexiglas, mirror and video projections with sound are my materials. Attention to changing light and perspective, the emotional power of color and my interest in avant-garde classical music all led to the creation of stage installations and finally into formulating a “creative arena” inclusive of all these elements.
This work I call “Resonant Environments.” The constantly changing video images of patterns of movement, color, and light in space is my focus. Dissolving boundaries between spectator and participant, inside and outside, abstraction and representation, between time and space is my goal. Full Bio
